William "Greg" Gregory Sumner

Mr. William “Greg” Gregory Sumner, 57, of Tifton passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at his residence.

A private graveside service will be held at Shingler Cemetery.

Mr. Sumner was born July 25, 1964 in Tift County to Catherine Hughes Lord and the late Johnny Furman Sumner. He was a member of Brighton Road Baptist Church of Tifton and was a 1983 graduate of Tift County High School. Mr. Sumner worked with Tifton Aluminum for fifteen years as a press operator and later with Walmart in the sporting goods department. He loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs, wrestling and all sports.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Janet Sumner of Tifton; his niece, Pamela Sumner Johnson and her husband Zay Johnson; his nephew, Timothy Adam Sumner; one great niece, Niyah Roberson and his great nephews, Landon Roberson and Logan Roberson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tift county Rescue Animal Shelter, 278 Georgia Hwy 125 S, Tifton, Ga. 31794.
