Mrs. Vera Estelle Ford Walker, 89, of Tifton passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021 at her son’s residence.
A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in Tift Memorial Gardens with Rev. Walter Walker officiating.
Mrs. Walker was born November 30, 1931 in Buena Vista, Georgia to the late William Henry Ford and Vivian Hand Hawkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Allen Walker who died October 30, 2015, her brother, Leon Ford and her sister Murl Ford. Mrs. Walker was a member of Tifton Primitive Baptist Church. She had lived most of her life in Tifton. Miss Vera had formerly been the assistant manager of Davis Brother’s Restaurant in Tifton and had worked at Milady Bakery for many years. She was a woman of faith who always had a smile on her face and was a very giving person. Miss Vera would address everyone with “Hey Honey”. She loved her family and was always happy in their company.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, R. A. (Sonny) and Vickie Walker of Hahira and her daughter and son-in-law Sloan and Steve Bland of Terre Haute, Indiana; her grandchildren, Kimberly and Richard Corenflos, Simone and Tim Thompson, Sonnie Ann and David Martin and Joshua Bland and his significant other Rocio Arias; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and one sister, Margaret Ford Demott of Albany.
