Susan Amelia (McSwain) Hyde

December 11, 1945 — March 31, 2022

Mrs. Susan Amelia McSwain Hyde, 76, of Chula passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ike Thomas officiating.

Tony Owens, Casey Hyde, Steve LaHue, Gene Mizak and Josh Holt will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Hyde was born December 11, 1945 in Berrien County to the late Horace McSwain and Jeanette Giddens McSwain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Edward Hyde, her daughter, Cynthia Hyde LaHue and her sister, Martha Mobley. Mrs. Hyde was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. She was a former bookkeeper with Kelley Manufacturing Company and later she owned and operated a produce stand because she enjoyed visiting with the members of the community who stopped by. She loved spending time with her family and socializing. Mrs. Hyde never met a stranger.

Mrs. Hyde is survived by her son, Lamar Hyde of Chula; her grandson, Casey Hyde of Chula and her granddaughter, Stephanie Holt of Chester; her sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and James Sheffield of Warner Robins, two great grandchildren and her son-in-law, Steve LaHue of Tifton and her sister-in-law, Linda Evans of Franklin, NC.
