Sara Jeane (Spivey) Milam

Mrs. Sara Jeane Spivey Milam, 95, of Tifton passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at her residence.

There will not be any type of service.

Mrs. Milam was born January 6, 1926 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Robert E. Spivey and Blanch Rorie Spivey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Thomas R. Milam to whom she was married for sixty-three years at the time of his death in March 26, 2005 and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hamilton Milam. She married her husband Tom in 1942. In 1943 they moved to Chicago, IL., then to Panama City, FL., from 1955 to 1961 when they moved to Auburn, AL. In 1968 they settled permanently in Tifton. Mrs. Milam was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tifton, Springhill Country Club and the Ladies Golf Association of Springhill Country Club where she won the annual Club Championship Tournament from 1970 to 1991. Mrs. Jeane was an avid golfer and has won numerous golfing events locally and in surrounding areas. She and her husband traveled and golfed across the country.  In addition, she developed lifelong friendships traveling to and playing in tournament’s around the southeastern United States. She loved working in her yard and taking care of her little dog “Nick”.

Mrs. Milam is survived by her son John Thomas Milam of Columbus; her daughter, Deborah Jeane Milam of Tifton; one grandson, John Thomas Milam, Jr. and wife Julie of Valdosta and one great grandson, John Thomas Milam, III.
