Sara Frances (Weldon) Cravey

Mrs. Sara Frances Weldon Cravey, 97, of Tifton passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Cypress Pond Assisted Living Center.  She was affectionately known as Sally by her brothers, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Ring officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday before the service at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M.

Mrs. Cravey was born January 8, 1924 in Tift County to the late Isaac Weldon and Florence Hansford Weldon.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years, Oscar William Cravey, Jr. who died March, 1973, grand son Brandon Russell Cravey, and her son-in-law Robert Larry Lamb, four brothers, Forrest Weldon, A. D. Weldon, Russell Weldon, Bobby Weldon and three sisters, Juanita Weldon Selph, Louise Weldon Cravey, and Carolyn Weldon Adcock.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Cravey had lived in Worth County most of her life.  She was a wonderful farmer’s wife and an excellent cook and seamstress who made her own clothes and her children’s. She was a woman of faith and she was very active in her church.  Mrs. Cravey enjoyed flower gardening and was a talented artist. Her family holds many of her paintings.  She loved her family and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Vicki Lamb, two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Laura Cravey, Alan and Merle Cravey all of Omega; her grandchildren, Stacey and Render  Heard, Clay and Laurel Lamb, Chris and Deborah Cravey, Michael Cravey, Tony and Pam Cravey; great grandchildren Grant Metts,  Alexandria “Boo” Heard and Gabriella “Half Pint Heard, John and Hannah Cravey, Brett and Emily Cravey, Drew and Chelsea Cravey, and Charley Cravey; three great-great grandchildren Lila Rose Cravey, Beau Cravey and Avry Cravey along with several nieces and nephew.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 1128 Salem Church Road, Tifton, GA. 31794
