Rebecca "Becky" (Podagrosi) Jarboe

Mrs. Rebecca “Becky” Jarboe, 65, of Tifton, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Piedmont HealthCare of Macon.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church of Tifton with Father Peter Oyenugba officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, December 2, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors with a rosary to be held at 7:00 P.M. following the visitation. She will be interred in Illinois at a later date.

The Knights of Columbus will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Jarboe was born June 14, 1957 in Nashville, Georgia to Katy Roberts Podagrosi and the late Ernesto Podagrosi. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Podagrosi. Mrs. Jarboe was a member of Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church of Tifton. Becky grew up in Rantoul, Illinois, where she married Walter Jarboe in 1981. A graduate of Illinois State University, she was an art teacher and a substitute teacher in Danville, Illinois. Becky had a lifelong interest in visual arts, and enjoyed working in media of pencil, watercolor and stained glass.

Becky was a musician who played clarinet, guitar and piano. After singing in church choir with her husband for nearly thirty years, she became the choir director for the English choir at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church in Tifton in 2010. She continued in that capacity until her passing.

Mrs. Jarboe is survived by her husband, Walter Jarboe: her sons, Gabriel (Jennifer) and Steven; her daughters, Clare and Angela, her two grandchildren, her mother, sister, JoElla Spratt, and a brother Andrew Podagrosi.
