Mr. Thompson was born on January 17, 1946 in Tift County to the late Jack E. Thompson and the late Grace Wright Thompson.   He graduated from Irwin County High School in 1964.

He is survived by his two daughters, Wendy Thompson of Atlanta and Cindy Thompson of Waterloo, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Vince and Christian Thompson of Waterloo and Brice and Emilie Thompson of Columbus; his twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; two sisters Sheran Thompson of Waterloo and Dianne and Jimmy Vance of Albany.  and his wife’s brother Gerald Richardson and his wife Jane of Waterloo. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Waterloo Missionary Baptist, 124 Waterloo Church Lane, Chula, GA 31733 or Hospice of Tift Area, 618 North Tift Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794.
