Nancy (Scott) Baldwin

May 19, 1954 — May 29, 2023

Nancy was born on May 19, 1954 in Jacksonville, where she loved her childhood on Shady Drive.  She went on to attend Brenau College, and later Clemson with her husband, Chuck.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. at the Tifton Arts heritage Museum.

Her first date with Chuck was on her 19th birthday at Folly Beach.  They were married 10 months later and have rarely been apart since.  They enjoyed life to the fullest before settling down in Tifton, where they raised their family.  Nancy’s greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren to whom they lovingly referred to as "Mimi."

In Tifton, Nancy immediately made a wonderful group of lifelong friends who later became known as the Doozies. She was active in the community, including Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the garden club and the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage, among many other philanthropic endeavors.

She loved all things water—snorkeling, scalloping, the beach, and the lake. She was an avid reader, traveler, Prosecco connoisseur, and hunter enabler.  Nancy loved to spend time with her sisters and parents.  She loved traveling abroad, snow skiing, art and music.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Chuck Baldwin, of Tifton, Georgia, to whom she was married to for 49 years; her daughter and son in law, Madeline and Jake Jarnagin of Valdosta, Georgia, and her son and daughter in law, Charlie and Christina Baldwin, of Nashville, Tennessee.  She leaves behind four grandchildren whom she loved deeply, Eleanor Jarnagin, Ford Jarnagin, Sarah Baldwin, and Margaret Baldwin.  She is survived by her father, William Winfield Scott, of Tifton, Georgia, her sister Helen (Ben) Correll, of Spartanburg, SC, and Madeline Thompson, of Macon, Georgia. She is predeceased by her beloved mother, Sally Scott.
