Murray Carl Roberson

Mr. Murray Carl Roberson, 71, of Chula went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at his residence.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mr. Larry Thompson. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Patrick McDaniel, Scott Carlson, Austin McDaniel, Garrett Carlson, Cole McDaniel, Gavin Carlson, Russell Hester, Neal Roberson, Todd Roberson and Russ Griffin will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Irvin, Larry Thompson, Van Dow, Jerry Young, Jesse Kelley, Lee Marchant, Rod Griffin, Jack Goforth, Terrell Roberson, Sidney Roberson, Shep Brock, Tim Sumner, Tommy Sumner, Jimmy NeSmith and all Roberson Seed Company Customers.

Mr. Roberson was born August 28, 1949 in Tifton to the late Hurschel Bradley Roberson and Edith Whitten Roberson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl “Buddy” Roberson, his nephew, Tim Roberson, two brothers-in-law, Jimmy Golden and Dennis Golden. Mr. Roberson was married to the love of his life, Jewell Golden Roberson, for fifty wonderful years. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1968. He was the president of the Tift County FFA chapter. He also received an American Farmer Award. Murray served several years in the Georgia National Guard.

Mr. Roberson was the owner and operator of Roberson Seed Company, Inc., which was a Roberson Family business for over sixty years. He was a farmer most of his life and loved to grow a garden for his family, neighbors, and friends. Mr. Roberson was a devoted provider for his family, had the gift of giving, was an avid hunter, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Roberson is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Patrick McDaniel and Carla and Scott Carlson all of Tifton; his grandchildren, Austin McDaniel, Madeline McDaniel, Garrett Carlson, Cole McDaniel and Gavin Carlson all of Tifton; his brother and sister-in-law, Winfred and Faye Roberson of Chula. Also survived by his sisters-in-law, Cheryl and Russell Hester of Omega, Marie Roberson of Moultrie, Jean Golden of South Carolina and Wanda Golden of Tifton, many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
