Johnnie Lamar Parker

December 25, 1944 — February 27, 2020

Mr. Johnnie Lamar Parker, 75 passed away on February 27, 2020 at his residence in VFW Veterans Village in Fort McCoy, Florida.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in Pine Park Cemetery in Grady County, Pine Park, Georgia with Rev. Gerald Horne officiating.

Johnnie was born in Cairo, Georgia on December 25, 1944 to Jack Walter Parker, Sr. and Julia Mae Carter Parker, both of whom preceded in him death.

Johnnie graduated from Central High School in Thomasville in 1963, where he ran on the track team and was voted most deserving by his team.  He attended ABAC and Bainbridge Jr. Colleges. He was also a very proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for almost four years during the Vietnam Era and he was stationed in Alaska.  After his military service, he worked in the finance business and auto sales.

Johnnie was survived by his loving daughter, Shannon Nicole Parker of Colquitt, his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Carlie Parker of Seffner, Florida, his brother Johnathan Parker of Moultrie, his sister and brother-in-law Judy and Dean Young of Warner Robins, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

His family is quoted as saying “The world was a better place because Johnnie was in it and he was and is loved by all his family.”
