Ernest Royce Bishop

Mr. Ernest Royce Bishop, Sr., 80, of Tifton passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. He was a casualty of Covid. Please observe Covid guidelines. The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.

Mr. Bishop was born October 2, 1941 in Tifton to the late Ernest R. Bishop and Martha Belle King Bishop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his only sibling, Amelia Bishop Dorsett. Royce was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of First Baptist Church of Tifton. He graduated high school and studied at ABAC and College of Americas, Fort Ord, California.

Mr. Bishop is survived by his son, Ernest R. Bishop, Jr (Ernie) of TyTy; his daughter, Natalie Elizabeth Bishop of Valdosta; his brother-in-law, T. Howard Dorsett of Tifton; his niece, Pam (Mark) Lysett and his nephew, David Howard Dorsett both of Alpharetta.
