Elaine (Thrift) Cosper

Elaine Thrift Cosper, 76, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Ring and Rev. Chester Thrift officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Cosper was born July 25, 1942 to the late Robert Theodore Thrift and Gladys Wainright Thrift. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, J. R. Thrift and Freil Thrift; her infant brother Bob Thrift. Mrs. Cosper was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She was retired receptionist with Dr. Raymond Aldridge. Mrs. Cosper graduated from Brantley County High School in 1960. She was very active in her church where she was involved with many activities. She loved her family and friends. Mrs. Cosper enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling to the Satilla River where she visited with her sisters and brothers. Also, she enjoyed spending time at the beach.

Mrs. Cosper is survived by her husband, Darrell Lamar Cosper of Tifton to whom she was married for fifty-four years; one daughter, Gena Cosper of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Cosper of Valdosta; her mother-in-law Ferol Cosper of Tifton; four grandchildren, Cole Murray, Alex Cosper, Tyler Cosper and Margaret Anne Cosper; two sisters, Pauline and Richard Broz, Doline and Edward Walls all of Nahunta; two brothers, Roger and Annie Thrift of Nahunta, Chester and Jimmie Thrift of Deltona, Florida.
