Darlene (Lastinger) Dorminey

Mrs. Darlene Lastinger Dorminey, 74, of Tifton passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Chip Grantham officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Mrs. Dorminey was born March 12, 1949 in Tift County to the late Len Brooks Lastinger and Ruth Ross Lastinger. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tifton. Darlene was a 1967 graduate of Tift County High School where she was a Head Majorette. After high school, she attended the University of Georgia. She was an exceptional writer, enjoyed cooking, reading, working around her yards and traveling. Mrs. Dorminey’s family was her world and she especially enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dorminey is survived by her husband, Timothy “Tim” Dorminey to whom she was married for fifty-five years on January 4, 2023, her two sons, Drew and Brandy Dorminey of Chula and Dusty and Wendy Dorminey of Lake Park; five grandchildren, Mitchell Dorminey of Tifton, Zack and Brandie Jay Dorminey of Athens, Deryne and Dalton Rentz of Smyrna, Trey Dorminey of Chula and Daniel Dorminey of Lake Park; great grandchildren, Peyton Dorminey  and Lincoln Dorminey of Athens; brother and sister-in-law, Len and Linda Lastinger; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
