Mrs. Bobbie Fussell Tomberlin, 91, of TyTy, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Ty Ty with Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1: 45 P.M. at the church before the service. Interment will follow in First Baptist Church of TyTy Cemetery. Mask and social distancing are required.
Jake Wells, B. J. Brannen, Jesse Tomberlin, David Tomberlin, Colt Tomberlin and Drew Hawkins will serve as pallbearers. Ladies of the Tift Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will serve as Honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Tomberlin was born December 9, 1928 in Irwin County to the late George W. Fussell and Annie Walsh Fussell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Tomberlin who died in 1997, her son Hardy Tomberlin, four sisters, Letha Hardwick, Johnnie McEachern, Pauline Taylor, Dorothy Register and two brothers, Jack and Dick Fussell. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of TyTy and a graduate of Irwin County High School. Mrs. Tomberlin was retired from Tift Regional Medical Center as the switch board operator after many years and later was a pink lady with Tift Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for fifteen years. She was very active in her church and a member of the Joy Fellowship Sunday School Class. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, gardening and fishing.
Mrs. Tomberlin is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, George and Lisa Tomberlin of Lenox and Joey Tomberlin of TyTy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Henry Wnek of Vanceville and JoAnn and Billy Brannen of Tifton; her grandchildren, Jesse Tomberlin, David Tomberlin, J.J. and Michael Spradley, Melana and David Bass, Jake and Darah Wells, Colt Tomberlin, B. J. and Melissa Brannen and Leigh Ann and Josh Reynolds; her great grandchildren, Sydney Parson, Bella Kate Bass, Owen Wells, Gray Wells, Jaci Hawkins, Drew Hawkins, Jackson Reynolds, Jase Reynolds, Lola Reynolds, Landon Reynolds, Abby Tomberlin, Hazel Spires, Haley Brannen and Walker Brannen.
