Betty Jean (Arrington) Spradley

Mrs. Betty Jean Arrington Spradley, 86, of Tifton passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 25, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado with Rev. Todd Garner and Rev. Joe Brookshire officiating.  The body will lie in state an hour before the service.   Interment to follow in Union Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Spradley was born October 8, 1934 in Tift County to the late Leon H. Arrington and Mamie Belflower Arrington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucille Herndon, Christine Hutchins, Mary Cruze and two brothers, Cecil Arrington and Henry Arrington. She was a member of Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado. Mrs. Spradley had lived her entire life in Tift County. Miss Betty was a woman of great faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and was a wonderful preacher’s wife. She loved her family and was a great wife, mother, grandmother (Mema) and great grandmother. She enjoyed working in her yard, decorating her home especially with angels, cooking and baking. Miss Betty always enjoyed shopping.

Mrs. Spradley is survived by her husband Rev. N. C. Spradley, Sr., of Tifton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Thelda and Bobby Welch of Tifton, Debbie and C. B. Mathis of Byron, Vickie and Derrell Spikes of Ty Ty and Frieda and Bill Cowperthwaite of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan C. and Deby Spradley of Hephzibah, Ga., and Steven and Lori Spradley of Byron; fourteen grandchildren, Tracey Kennedy, Stacey Tyson, Chad Mathis, Brad Mathis, Dr. Derron Spikes, Damon Spikes, Buck Varnadoe, Melissa Williams, Nathan C. Spradley, III, Mindi Tussey, Stephanie Spradley, Josie Spradley, Billy Cowperthwaite and Amy Bennett; thirty-one great grandchildren and one sister, Joann Barge of Cuthbert.
