Betty Jean (Wood) Giddings

Mrs. Betty Jean Wood Giddings, 76, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Sylvester Health Care.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 25th at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Crosland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 24th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family will be meeting at the home of Selena and Chad Branch, 59 Henry Way, Tifton, Ga. 31794.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Giddings grandsons.

Mrs. Giddings was born April 24, 1943 in Cook County to the late Claude B. Wood, Sr., and Odell Brown Wood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Wayne Giddings who died March 28, 2008. Mrs. Giddings was a member of Omega Church of God. She had lived in Colquitt and Tift Counties all of her life and had retired from Shaw Industries. After she retired from Shaw Industries she was employed in the deli at Harvey’s. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and fishing. Mrs. Giddings loved keeping her yard immaculate, growing daylilies and putting up various preserves.

Mrs. Giddings is survived by one son, Allen Boazman of Rentz, Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda and Bill Wilson, Selena and Chad Branch all of Tifton; nine grandchildren, Nichole and Scott Richardson, Abby and Damon Clayton, Heather and Christopher Scarbor, Tyler Wedgeworth, Sarah and Christopher Harper, Katelyn Wilson and significant other Johnny Robinette, Ryan Wedgeworth, Dalan Wedgeworth and Meg Branch; eight great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Joann and Bill Boozer of Greenville, South Carolina, and Mary Broome of Tifton; two brothers and sister-in-law, Jack Wood, Junior and Sandra Wood all of Tifton. There are also numerous nieces and nephews.
