Betty Jean (Martin) Davis

Ms. Betty Jean Martin Davis, 88, of Live Oak, Florida formerly of Tifton, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Lake City Medical Center in Lake City, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Ken Martin and Rev. Ronnie Vice officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the funeral home.

Jody Martin, Randy Martin, Mike Martin, David Martin, Timothy Cooper and Jody Hogan will serve as pallbearers.

Ms. Davis was born October 25, 1931 in Irwin County to the late Bailey Thomas Martin, Sr., and Annie Lee Whitley Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lewis Stanley Davis and two brothers, Bailey Thomas Martin, Jr., and Franklin David Martin. Mrs. Davis was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Tifton and was a retired LPN-Nurse. She had lived all of her life in Tifton having moved to Florida to be with her daughter two years ago. Mrs. Davis loved her Lord and was active in her church. Before becoming a nurse, she was a wonderful homemaker always devoted to her family. Betty loved sports especially the Atlanta Braves. She also enjoyed gospel music, bible study, daily devotions and spending time with her family.

Ms. Davis is survived by her daughter Beverly Platt of Tifton; her grandchildren Robbie Kearce, Jonathan Davis and Melinda and Jody Hogan; her great grandchildren Rylee and Bryce Kearce and Callie Hogan, she was waiting on her first great great grandchild to be born in November; her brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Ken Martin and wife, Barbara Martin of Hiram and her sister and brother-in-law,  Charlotte and Donnie  Cooper of Tifton, also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
