James Larry Winter, 74, of Tifton passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services will be held in Oakridge Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. on Friday, April 27th with Rev. Craig Nalls officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Mr. Winter was born March 2, 1944 in Atlanta to the late Donald and Edna Bishop Winter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-five years, Betty Jane Morris Winter who died March 27, 2017, his son Jamie Winter, two brothers, Douglas and Bruce Winter. He was the former owner of Oak Forest Supply Company in Tifton from 1979 to 2013. He was a veteran of The United States Army and enjoyed fishing, camping and NASCAR racing.
Mr. Winter is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Susan and Frank Griffin, Jr. of Tifton and Cathy Libby Mendoza of Cochran; one son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Sandy Hudgins of Tifton; eleven grandchildren, Josh Winter, Brady Winter, Perrin Winter, Del Griffin, Gavin Griffin, Brandie McLean, Shannon Wilson, Courtney Griffin, Candace Griffin, Amy Hudgins and Kyle Hudgins, along with several great grandchildren; one sister, Joann Cribbs of Savannah and a special aunt Evelyn Hushmire of Beauford.
